Halibut/ Lingcod in San Francisco bay and ocean

Hey fisherman,
I have a day off today to catch up on all the paperwork and I will do a quick fishing report. Salmon are moving in closer from the north, south and West so it won’t be long. I had 4 fishermen on the last trip. We went up the coast and got a good grade of rockfish. We released the smaller ones and boxed the larger ones. We also had 5 nice Lingcod to 10 pounds and we made a stop and pick up a 15 pound halibut. I also received a report of some other halibut landed.  I now have trips booked every day until August 3. There are a few open loads that have some room. I have room this Friday on an open load. Let me know if you are interested. Enjoy the photos.

San Francisco Halibut, Rockfish and Salmon fishing report 7/7/13

Hey sportsman,
I'm sorry I have been off the grid but I have been very very busy. I get up at 4:15 am, feed the horses and head to the
boat. Then I get home between 7 and 8 o'clock pm and try to return as many calls and emails as I can before it gets too late. So forgive me for not keeping up with the reports. I will try harder! Here we go.
All my trips for the last 10 days in a row have been pretty much up the coast limit style rock fishing, scratching up some halibut and lingcod here and there, occasionally we get a big surprise like a large 6 pound black rock fish or a big vermilion. It has been steady action when the weather allows. I have had lingcod up to 19 lbs. I just found some halibut, finally! I have not been able to fish them the last 2 days due to weather but tomorrow we may get to get on them. We've also have been doing some shark trips and shark fishing is been very good. Just about all my shark trips are catch release, take a good photo and let the fish live to fight another day. The salmon are still very far out but they are up north, down south, near the islands and working there way here. There are a lot of salmon and a lot of big ones. It will not be long until they are here and then Yaaah Hooo!!! I have added a lot of photos to the Summer 2013 album. You can get to the album through my 2nd web site. We are still working on the link for the 1st web site. I will also attach some photos. Enjoy!

Flash Is Back and Fishing

Hi Sportsman,
Well it has been a lot of work, over a week, but she's all done. Flash is back in San Francisco at the Wharf and we just wrapped up her 1st 3 trips. We were trolling frozen bait for halibut in the morning and fishing sharks in the afternoon. Overall it was just okay fishing. The good news is there are a lot of halibut this year. I understand live bait will be available this week. I also have a new set of Vic’s custom rods this year and some new amenities in the cabin. Dates are booking faster than ever. At this point I only have one weekend day left in June and July weekend days are half gone I have about 8 weekdays left in June and there are still a lot of weekdays in July. Call me soon if you are interested in a trip and enjoy the photos.

April 27, 2013 - Final Winter Trip

Well it's very hectic at this point. I wrapped up the sturgeon season with a bang, and the last 2 trips had some good action! One day I had a full load of 6 fishermen the 2nd day we had a light load with 3 fishermen. All in all it was great action. We had landed 14 Sturgeon in 2 days. We also had some bass. There were also many good bites missed. Most of the Sturgeon were Shakers; 2 were real close with an inch of the mark. One was a beautiful keeper at 59 inches and 65 pounds.  I had another gentleman fight of fish for 20 min…we saw the fish jump twice and then the heartbreak came as the hook pulled.  It was either another large keeper or oversize.

Now it's time to get set up for the summer season. We've been working every day on the boat sanding painting cleaning fixing getting her all prepared for the next season. She will look like new again. My next charter is Friday, May 3 Saturday, May 4 is full and Sunday May 5 has room.  I hear rumors we will have live date by then. I will be targeting salmon, halibut, striped bass and sharks. If you are interested in a trip please contact me now, as this year is filling up even faster than last year!  All the weekend days and many weekdays are already booked in June and I am starting to fill up the weekend days in July and August.

Enjoy the photographs while I get some sleep. I will get back to work on the boat ASAP. If everything goes well I will be moving the boat over on Wednesday May 1st. Zach and I will do a sea trial fishing trip on Thursday and then the 1st summer season trip will commence on Friday.
